1. What is Pro Galleries? Back to top Pro Galleries is a FujiFilm Professional service which provides professional photographers with an online photo display and print ordering system. Professional photographers can easily set up online albums with public or invitation only access and share these with existing or future clients. The photographer can set the price and product selection on a per-album basis. This gives the Pro the flexibility they need to price different jobs appropriately. |
2. What services does Pro Galleries provide, and how will it benefit my professional photography business? Back to top The services provided by Pro Galleries include:
Once your photos are online, you can sell directly to your clients from access protected albums, or choose to make some albums public for general viewing by anyone that may wish to purchase your work online. Fortunately for you, there is no need to learn how to build websites, set up secure online payment systems or manage other complicated technical issues simply upload, set prices and share! |
3. How much does it cost the Pro? Back to top The annual membership fee is $A220.00 including GST. You simply join online, and pay using your credit card. We accept Mastercard, Visa, Bankcard or American Express. |
4. How do I join? Back to top Professional Photographers can join online, by following this
simple procedure:
You have now completed the sign up process. Welcome to Pro Galleries! |
5. I individually price for my photos and shoots - can Pro Galleries handle this? Back to top ProGalleries allows you to control the price of photographs on a per-album basis. You create price lists that set the retail price of certain products (4x6”, 8x10”, 20x30”, etc). This can be as standard or as individual as you like. FUJIFILM Aust Australia deducts its commissions from this total price, and you retain the difference. The price list calculator shows you the wholesale price, and allows you to set the consumer price as you see fit. |
6. What are the costs of commissions? Back to top The commissions deducted from the price the consumer pays are a total of the bank fees, a 25% fee to FUJIFILM Aust for the Pro Galleries service, the delivery charge and the wholesale price of the prints. The remainder is credited to the Pro. |
7. Where do my photos get printed? Back to top You choose a FujiColor lab from our list of Pro Galleries partner labs, set whether the customer sees details of that lab and is allowed to “pick up” their prints from the lab, and we handle the rest! Transferring, printing and even delivery if you choose. |
8. How do I upload files? Back to top
9. How do I set the prices on the albums I've uploaded? Back to top You must create a price list before you can offer anything for sale.
10. I looked at my albums and the products are all listed for sale at the wholesale prices! What's going on? Back to top When you are logged in as a Pro Galleries Member, you can purchase your own photographs at the lab’s wholesale prices. To see your album as your customer will, please be sure to log out then go to your homepage. |
11. Can I choose which products are available for sale? Back to top Yes, simply create a price list which only includes prices for the products you wish to offer in that album. Items without a price listed will not be offered to your customers. |
12. Where will my images get printed? Back to top All images will get fulfilled at the lab you selected in the Create Price List section. |
13. Can I see my images before they are sent to the customer? Back to top Not usually, but you can make arrangements directly with some of our Pro Galleries partner labs to arrange for alternate fulfilment processes. |
14. Can I alter the packaging and/or include promotional materials with the order? Back to top Please contact your Pro Galleries partner lab to discuss how they can support alternate packaging etc. |
15. Where can I see the Pro Lab wholesale prices? Back to top You can see the different wholesale price lists when you originally select your Pro Lab in the Create Price Lists section. You can check several labs by selecting them and creating a sample price list. |
16. Which Pro Labs are currently offering online fulfilment services for Pro Galleries? Back to top During the launch phase, we are evaluating, selecting and training Pro Labs as quickly as feasible. Please contact the support team for an up to date list of labs available. |
17. I'm worried about my images being on the Internet. Can't people download them? Back to top ProGalleries does not allow anyone to view the source files of your images, only preview small versions that are not of a printable quality. Your digital images are never sent to the customer, they only receive the high-quality prints that they pay for. |
18. What file formats does Pro Galleries accept? Back to top Currently, Pro Galleries accepts only JPEG images, which usually have a .jpg or .jpeg file extension. |
19. Is there any limit on file size? Back to top Yes, currently 5mb as a maximum file size, and 100mb as a maximum total upload. This is mostly in your interests, as these images can take a significant time to transfer, even across broadband connections, and for our servers to process them into preview images (thumbnails) |
20. What is the optimum size and format for uploading images? Back to top
There are 3 variables you can adjust that affect final image file size. |
21. I don't believe that 5MB is large enough to produce the large sizes my Pro Galleries lab can produce. Back to top If your images are to be used for gallery quality large format prints, 5MB may not be enough. An example of this may be large format panorama poster size prints, with a selling price in the hundreds or thousands of dollars. It is likely that 50MB or greater TIFFs were created by scanning medium or large format transparencies and your customers expect the quality they see in your physical Gallery when they order works online You can make arrangements with most ProGalleries participating labs to supply a CD with high resolution image files which can then be used to produce large print sizes. Simply upload small images for viewing online and ensure your lab has the required files on CD for production work. |
22. Why don't you take TIFF images? Back to top The TIFF image format stores images with no compression. This offers the best possible quality as no image quality is lost during compression, but unfortunately creates very large file sizes. The file sizes created are too large for transmission over the internet and the small (and often insignificant) quality lost by saving files as High quality JPEGs far outweighs the large file sizes demanded by TIFF. |
23. How can I reduce the size of my images and or change the file type from TIFF or others to JPEG? Back to top You can use an image-editing program such as Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft Picture It to convert, resize and or save with more compression as JPEGs. |
24. Are there any automatic image adjustments or corrections to the images that I upload? Back to top Files are printed exactly as they are uploaded, with no image adjustments unless you negotiate directly with your lab for pre printing adjustments. However, you can apply some limited adjustments after uploading (see below). |
25. Can I apply any image adjustments after uploading? Back to top Yes, Pro Galleries provides a number of image editing effects that you can add to your photos. To do this, follow this procedure:
26. How do I change my personal welcome photo/message on my Homepage? Back to top You can change the logo, photo and text on your home page:
27. What is the upload time on the files? Back to top Upload times depend on a large number of factors, including
